Warden Dennis Nelson was named president of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police at their annual banquet. Dennis currently serves as Warden of the Clayton County Correctional Institution (CI). Clayton County CI is correctional facility housing convicted State of Georgia prisoners and is located in the south Metropolitan Atlanta area. The event was a fundraiser for the nonprofit clinic, which provides medical assistance to those in need. Champion of Hope Award from Africa’s Children’s Fund (ACF)

On November 6, 2016, the Clayton County Community Development Department received the Champion of Hope award from Africa’s Children’s Fund (ACF) in recognition of its partnership efforts that serve low-income households in Clayton County. ACF currently receives grant funds through the County’s Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program, which provides residents with rental and utility subsistence payments in an effort to prevent homelessness. The award was received by Chairman Jeffrey E. Turner at ACF’s annual 2016 Taste of the World gala event. << View Photo
