This department handles all Business Licenses, Permits, Building Inspections and Planning and Zoning for Clayton County.

Any construction, commercial or residential, requires approval through this department. All businesses must secure a business license before entering into a business operation.

  Please Note Submittal Deadlines! The Technical Review Committee (TRC) processes all zoning, plat and plan applications. Please see the TRC schedule to determine the cut-off date for application submittals. This date determines at which TRC meeting applicant shall receive Staff comments. Applicants MUST attend their assigned TRC meeting to receive their comments.

  Building Permit Application (pdf) - Minimum fee of $50.00. Contact department at (770) 473-5421 for total fee price. Application will print 4 (four). Submit 3 (three) of the 4 (four) along with fee to department and retain 1 (one) for your records.
  
  Application for Electrical Permit (pdf) - Minimum fee of $50.00. Person holding master card for trade must sign all applications being submitted and submit with application a copy of current business license and state card along with special trades permit. Application will print 3 (three). Submit 2 (two) of the 3 (three) along with fee to department and retain 1 (one) for your records.
  
  Application for HVAC Permit (pdf) - Minimum fee of $50.00. Person holding master card for trade must sign all applications being submitted and submit with application a copy of current business license and state card along with special trades permit. Application will print 3 (three). Submit 2 (two) of the 3 (three) along with fee to department and retain 1 (one) for your records.
  
  Application for Plumbing Permit (pdf) - Minimum fee of $50.00. Person holding master card for trade must sign all applications being submitted and submit with application a copy of current business license and state card along with special trades permit. Application will print 3 (three). Submit 2 (two) of the 3 (three) along with fee to department and retain 1 (one) for your records.
